Excellent Mince Curry

  1. In a pot, saute onion in oil over medium heat for two minutes until translucent.
  2. Add garlic & ginger paste and bay leaves, saute another minute or two.
  3. Add in curry powder, paprika, garam masala, and tomatoes – saute well for 2 to 3 mins on low until fragrant and the oil separates from the mixture.
  4. Next, add Excellent Lean Steak mince and tin of peas – stir well for 2 to 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Lower the heat and simmer covered for 15 minutes on medium low until you see the oil separates from the mince. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  6. Check the consistency  – add water if you need more gravy or cook on medium until excess water is evaporated.
  7. Enjoy with rice or roti!


  • 850g Excellent Lean Steak Mince
  • 2 tbsp Cooking oil
  • Red onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp Amina’s Wonder Spice Garlic & Ginger paste (available at Excellent Meat Market)
  • 1 Cup chopped tomato 
  • 2 Large bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp Curry powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • ½ tsp Garam masala 
  • 1 Tin peas
