Excellent BBQ Pulled Corned Beef Roosterkoek

Serves 4-6

  1. Place your Excellent Meat Corned Beef in a medium sized saucepan and top with onion, carrot, bay leave, peppercorns, coca cola and water to over the meat. Boil the meat with a slanted lid for 35 minutes per 500g and an additional 20 minutes – until tender.
  2. Once the meat has cooked for the recommended time, remove from the saucepan and immediately start pulling into long strands with the use of 2 forks.
  3. Once pulled, mix together with the BBQ sauce and then get ready to assemble.
  4. To assemble: heat up your roosterkoek and then sandwich together with the coleslaw mix, roasted cherry tomatoes and then top with the BBQ Pulled corned beef mixture.


  • 1kg Excellent Meat Market Corned Beef (Cured the Traditional Way)
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Bayleave
  • 1 tsp Black peppercorns
  • 1 L Coca cola
  • 1 ½ cups / 375ml HQ BBQ sauce (Available at your local Excellent Meat Market)
  • 200g Cherry tomatoes, roasted
  • 1 pkt Coleslaw mix (Available at your local Excellent Meat Market)
  • 1 pkt Roosterkoek
